Palatia Jazz

In 2007 Suzette Yvonne Moissl, managing director of the Palatine event agency S.Y.M GmbH from Deidesheim approached me. She had seen the image film of the Jugendstil-Festhalle and commissioned me to create a documentary about the concert series "Palatia Jazz". The concert series has been in existence since 1999 and offers jazz, wine and good food in a special ambience. The venues are castles, palaces and other historical buildings in the Palatinate.

Since I enjoy listening to jazz myself and had already attended concerts in the series on a number of occasions, this was of course a very nice assignment. For the shooting I asked Josa Jungnickel, with whom I also made the image film for the Jugendstil-Festhalle. He also had a great appetite for it and so we soon found ourselves at the Villa Ludwigshöhe, a small castle directly on the rim of the Haardt with a view of the Rhine plain. There we documented the structure of the event and of course the concert itself. In the course of the summer we then accompanied three more events and collected so many beautiful pictures, which I then processed into a 16-minute film. Since then the film has been used by S.Y.M on the website.
